Mylar balloons are a party necessity but why keep them tied to the walls? This super cute DIY brings the balloons from the corner to the table.

For this project, you will need...

Mylar paper

Cotton rounds

Lollipop sticks

Hot glue

Scissors

Fork or knife

First begin by rolling the cotton rounds to create pieces for a structure for the mylar to rest on. To create smaller pieces use one cotton round folded in half, then rolled.

To create larger pieces take two cotton rounds and roll them together. Add hot glue to keep the cotton rolled together.

Once you have all the cotton pieces you need begin to organize them into the shape that you desire. I have done names before but for this particular time I am doing numbers for a birthday cake. After the pieces are laid in the way that you want glue them together.

Using a few dots of glue stick the cotton shape onto a piece of mylar.

To wrap the cotton shape you will by using strips of mylar paper. Cut a 3 inch wide piece of mylar, then cut that into various lengths.

Put a line of hot glue on the mylar close to the cotton in small sections. Then take a strip of mylar and using a fork begin to press the end of the strip of mylar in the hot glue. Repeat on the other side of the cotton area using the other side of the mylar strip.

Once all of the cotton is covered in mylar trim the excess off.

Add the lollipop stick to the back with a strip of glue. Then using another strip of mylar and a little bit of glue cover the stick that is on the mylar.

Then add the cake topper to your cake, celebrate, and enjoy!
